Your new beginning awaits…
It seems so stale and depressing.
We know… therapy you see on TV doesn’t look appealing or fun, and the stigma of what therapy is doesn’t’ sound that great either.
Well, let’s just throw all those ideas away, because therapy at Journey to New Beginnings is unique and truly a journey to healing.
People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Having so many therapists in one place, if you have depression, anxiety, trauma, are a first responder, anger issues, marriage or family issues, or an array of other things, we’ve got you covered.
At first sight.
We are definitely different and unique. We work hard to make sure each person that walks through our doors is a person visiting rather than just a number.
Even our receptionists will know you by name and might ask, “How’s your family?” or “How’re the kids?” – and depending on which receptionist, they might ask, “How’s your mama an ’em?”
You will often catch the receptionists, therapists, and nurse practitioner talking and laughing with a few jokes in there. We have a staff party for everything, so it’s not uncommon to see birthday or holiday decorations around.
We truly are a family that love working together and having fun which rolls over into our therapy sessions.
So… what’s it like?
Therapy doesn’t have to be something you dread or that is uncomfortable and rigid.
We all have a special way of connecting with our clients to build trust and provide a safe, comfortable space to tackle the issues at hand… even the hard stuff.
Depending on what we are working on and with whom, you can find us in a variety of different settings.
Sitting on the floor coloring, working in the sandbox, or creating a craft to help with feelings is a frequent occurrence when we work with children and adolescents. Taking a walk in the backyard or taking the dogs for a walk are usually a kid favorite.
With adults, we can sit on the floor, although that is not usually the preference. But, hey… if that’s what makes you feel comfortable, that’s what we will do. Sitting in the back yard is usually an all-time favorite, unless of course it’s one of those times it’s close to 100 degrees with a 90% humidity.
We strive to make therapy enjoyable…
… even when the work is hard.
We meet you where you are and work with you to get to a better life and better you. We have all kinds of tools in our toolbox to use with you and others to make each experience significant.
We get down to the nitty gritty. Because of our expertise, we often help you look at things differently that you haven’t thought of before. We waste no time getting to the hard stuff that is going to get you on a road to healing.
Our goal is progress, progress, success. Who wants to stay in therapy forever? We absolutely don’t want you in therapy forever.
We work in therapy but also make it pleasurable. The harder we work, the quicker you progress, the quicker you see success.
It’s not easy.
Therapy isn’t easy, and sometimes facing the struggles is absolutely hard. We know this, and we will be there to support you and comfort you the whole way.
True success takes commitment, dedication, and hard work. Not being consistent in therapy, only coming when there is a crisis or not being willing to “go there” with the things that are hard to talk about will not get you progress or success. It will only get you frustrated.
We are committed, dedicated, and ready to do the hard work with you.
