ABOUT

Caroline Taylor, PLPC

My focus is on you and your needs.

Every time you sink onto the couch in my office, I hope you feel welcomed, and when you walk out the door, you feel more cared for and confident.

So many children, adolescents, and adults alike doubt their worth and purpose in life, resulting from a host of so many individual and relational problems that arise over time. I value getting to the root of my client’s beliefs about themselves that cause emotional and mood-related stressors.

Moreover, I enjoy meeting each client right where they are using techniques particular to their set of needs and goals in counseling.

Sound scary or too technical? Don’t get caught up in the details – that’s my job! Using art, games, and even non-traditional methods like going outside for a session are not foreign concepts, and I’m glad to try multiple routes to find the best fit for you.

This space is for you to be completely open.

My office provides a safe space for you to talk about your hard or painful moments that feel big and overwhelming. You’ll find a comfy couch and chair, and probably pictures of my dogs, baby girl, and sticky notes with reminders about a hodgepodge of things so you can see I’m a real person, too.

I hope that it will also be a place to laugh and celebrate success on your counseling journey regardless of your end goal.

Personal healing prompted me to help others.

Life has happened to me over the years – which led me to become a counselor. Talking it out with someone objective yet genuinely interested in my comeback provided me insight and healing.

My joy is seeing my clients make their comebacks and attain mental, emotional, and relational wellness.

Here’s a little about my professional background.

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Delta State University (Go okra!) and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Mississippi (Hotty Toddy!). We’ll find common ground no matter your SEC or college team.

I have experience counseling children as young as five years old and adults who are well into their 70s. I worked with individuals suffering from severe mood disorders and individuals working through anxiety, depression, life changes, and grief. I also have worked with children who have been in the foster care system and whose parents were going through a divorce and children who have autism and/or ADHD.

I utilize evidence-based approaches that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Relational Therapy – well, you get the idea. We can talk more about which therapeutic orientation might work best for you!

Family life keeps me busy outside of counseling.

I have two ridiculous dogs named Tod and Cal. My husband is in the military and serves our community as a police officer, and we have a daughter. In my free time, I like walking our dogs and baking something to satisfy a sweet and salty tooth I usually get a few times a week.

I can’t wait to come alongside you, your child, or your family to face the hard stuff and rediscover the absolute joy in life and relationships.
