I just feel, you know, UGH…
Like the world around me is not as bright… like there’s a dark cloud all around me.
My energy level is low, and I don’t feel like doing anything except crying. Getting out of bed can be a chore, much less taking care of myself.
I’m easily angered, which makes me feel guilty. Most of the time, I don’t even know where my anger comes from.
Sometimes, even though I hate to admit it, I have suicidal thoughts. I hate the way I feel, and I just want it to stop.
Happiness? What’s that?
Honestly, I can’t remember a time I was truly happy; and if I do, it was a very long time ago.
Feeling sad has become my norm. I think this is just who I am.
Feeling happy would not even be something I would recognize. I don’t know what that even feels like, but I know I don’t want to feel this way anymore.
I’m scared, but I’m ready.
I’m ready to take my life back.
To find true happiness and embrace it, although I don’t even know what that means. I’m committed to doing the work, but I know it’s not going to be easy. It will be worth it.
We are here for you.
You are not alone, and you can be happy.
Our therapists and nurse practitioner at Journey to New Beginnings can support you through your journey to a life of fulfillment and happiness.
Although there are several therapists and a nurse practitioner in one practice with different styles and techniques, we all have the same goal… helping you find happiness.
Therapy starts with figuring out the source of your looming depression. When did it start and what is still lingering causing sadness today?
Once we understand your depression, we can get to work on finding happiness.
Depression is often linked with negative thoughts that drive sadness deeper in a hole.
Often, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used to tackle these negative thoughts. CBT is pretty much working with negative thoughts and feelings which affect your behaviors. By changing the negative things we tell ourselves, we can make a huge difference in transforming your sadness into happiness.
How different would life be if you told yourself good things instead of beating yourself up at every turn?
And yes, you guessed it… EMDR is also our go-to for depression. EMDR works on your thoughts and what is driving the depression leading to a much happier life without the baggage.
We provide a safe place to really confront your sadness and all the things you tell yourself in your head but wouldn’t say to others.
Crying is part of therapy… sad tears, happy tears, I-don’t-know-why-I’m-crying tears. We keep lots of tissue on hand. When the hard stuff leads to crying, we walk with you through the sadness to happiness.
You don’t have to go through this alone.
It’s not easy and takes commitment and work. It’s worth it, and you deserve it!
Finally find happiness, start building you up rather than breaking you down, and have a life of joy and freedom.
